A block of rooms is reserved at the Resort where the reception will be held and within walking distance to the boat dock. It's no Ritz Carlton, we will use the term "resort" lightly. Keep in mind that this is a quaint and modest lakeside village, but still very beautiful!
If you prefer 4 star lodging, we recommend this lovely new hotel. It is located in Clayton, about 10 miles away from Alexandria Bay.
For campers, The Swan Bay Resort is super. It is new, well designed, and located on the bay. We have stayed there a few times now and plan on returning. Bring your RV, trailer, or rent one of their modern cabins or spacious chalets. Paddleboards and pontoon boats, pavilion, boutique and amazing grocery store (think Wegmans) a short walk from the grounds.
We will be staying at the Ledges Resort and Marina in a Boathouse Cottage the week prior to the wedding. It is a serene six acre private setting about 15 minutes walk to town. They offer new fully furnished and outfitted (with kitchen) 1-4 bedroom cottages.
Uncle Sam Boat Tours will bring you to and from the Castle and is within walking distance from Riveredge Resort. They also offer many different tour packages throughout the season.
For information on what else to do while you are visiting....
Whether boat touring, vineyard and distillery hopping or simply taking in the pristine air and natural beauty, we think you will agree that Alexandria Bay is truly a special place.
For those who wish to attend, we will be enjoying a night out on the boat hosted by Uncle Sam Boat Tours. They will be featuring craft beer and wine from the area as well as live music! We can't wait!
We will be married by one of Bill's good friends, Brian, at Boldt Castle in the 1000 Islands, NY.
As a guest at our wedding, you will take a short boat ride over to the Castle from the Resort just across the bay. The outdoor ceremony will begin at 5:00 pm, but you can head over whenever you please to tour the Castle and grounds. It is not something that you will want to skip!
Back to the mainland for dinner at the Bistro. We enjoy a wide range of foods and couldn't settle on just chicken or steak, so we decided that options, including vegetarian, are the best way to go! Dig in and have as much or as little of whatever you please.
The resort will have live music and a tiki bar for after dinner, too!
Bill proposed to Paige at Niagara Falls just two weeks before her last competition of the year (and her first National show) Team Universe.
Paige knew Bill had something up his sleeve, so she decided it might be a good idea to wear something cute that day and put on some makeup (which she never does!). She knew that the day was coming at some point because they had looked at rings a few times before.
Bill, Paige, and her mom and dad went on the Maid of the Mist and after the tour, ventured up to the observation deck. It was there, overlooking the majestic falls, that Bill proposed!
As the months reel by and plans to wed solidify, we are thrilled for each day together and eagerly anticipate the next adventure as Mr. & Mrs.!
Bill and Paige met at Gold's Gym around Christmas of 2015. ...specifically at the cable machine.
Paige's workout time was always in the mornings, while Bill's was at night after work. There was a day that Paige had to switch her workout to the evening. That's when she first noticed Bill. Love at first sight does exist...
Pretty soon her workout times switched to the evenings for obvious reasons.
Their eyes had met a few times at the gym prior to their first conversation, but neither of them had the courage to approach one another. One day they started small talk and somehow cheesesteaks from a joint next door, "The Brass Rail" came up. Paige kept hinting about these cheesesteaks in hopes that Bill would ask her out, but being the impatient person she is, she broke down and asked him to join her.
After hours of effortless conversation, the date was over and Bill, forever a gentleman, walked Paige to her car. Hoping he would ask for her number, the final moments before they parted ways didn't look promising, so Paige asked him for his. We can all guess who the more forward one in the relationship is!
Bill and Paige talked and talked for what seemed like all day and night. The more they learned about each other, the stronger the connection grew.
Their first planned outing together was to Ringing Rock in Bucks County, PA. It's a wooded park with fields of, you guessed it, rocks that ring when hit with a hammer.
After just a few weeks, they both knew they had found something special....
So the story begins!
We hope you can join us Thursday for a Craft Beer and Wine Cruise! The boat departs at 7pm sharp. There will be local "beverages" from the area as well as food and live music. For more details click on the link below!
